Housing for 91AV Graduate Students

, located at 40 Clover Lane in — less than a 10-minute drive from 91AV’s Portland Campus for the Health Sciences — offers 65 furnished apartments in a variety of styles for 91AV graduate students. 

Located in the Maple Grove neighborhood, Seavey Terraces is steps away from an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants with easy access to grocery stores and more. The location is also convenient to , Portland, and the Maine Turnpike. Residents will find the convenience of a bus stop and shelter adjacent to the building for access to free public transportation. The building includes a first floor commons room, indoor bike storage, parking, and outdoor common space.

Construction is anticipated to be completed in early April 2025 with move-in beginning in May. The licensing agreement is for the full academic year.

Eligibility

University housing at Seavey Terraces is available during the summer, fall, and spring term sessions to 91AV graduate students (including rising junior Dental Hygiene and Nursing students, as well as accelerated Nursing students) enrolled in full-time matriculating programs of academic study. Any exception must be approved by the Office of Housing and Residential/Commuter Life. All eligible students may apply for housing during the designated application period.

Apartment Types and Amenities

Seavey Terraces offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and loft apartments for a unique and modern style. Depending on square footage, units are furnished with a full XL bed, underbed storage units, desk/chair, cushioned chair(s), barstools, console table/tv stand, and coffee table. Blinds are installed in the bedrooms. Appliances include stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Efficiency units do not have washer/dryer or dishwasher. All units have AC. Residents will pay separately for electricity, and arrange for internet services, if desired.

Before moving forward with your housing application, deposit and completing the housing application please review the Seavey Terraces Licensing Agreement (PDF), Policies Addendum (PDF), and rates to ensure you have all the information needed to make an informed decision regarding your housing needs. The lease agreement is for a full academic year.

Move-in Dates

  • For Summer Term programs, move in will be Wednesday, May 15. Early move in possible beginning May 1 with daily rate applied until academic term start.
  • For Fall Term (COM students only), move in will be Saturday, June 21.
  • For Fall Term programs, move in will be Saturday, August 23.
  • For Spring Term programs, move in will be Saturday, December 27.

Seavey Terrace Resources

Seavey Terraces is managed by Lux Residential in conjunction with 91AV. Upon move in, all residents will receive information regarding the Lux portal available through the AppFolio. Residents will be instructed to download the app to be used for general maintenance, communication, and other building related needs.

Emergency maintenance

If you have an emergency maintenance need, please contact Lux building management immediately. (During business hours at (207) 899-3845, after hours or holidays at 1 (800) 436-2196). Refer to the Lux Emergency Maintenance (PDF) procedures, or through the AppFolio tenant portal.

Examples of emergency situations include:

  • No electricity in your apartment
  • Door(s) unable to lock or be secured
  • Broken window
  • Immediate safety issues
  • Overflowing toilet
  • Sewage backup
  • No heat
  • Broken pipe/running water
General maintenance needs or repairs

To submit a work request, use your AppFolio tenant portal and click on “Request Maintenance”. Please be as detailed as possible in your request. Refer to the Lux Emergency Maintenance (PDF) procedures, or through the AppFolio tenant portal.

Examples of general maintenance needs include: 

  • Outlet not working
  • A bathroom sink, faucet, toilet or shower is running (not flooding) or won’t shut off.
  • Replace lighting
  • Appliance not working properly
  • Carpet or flooring loose
  • Pests
Card Access Issues

If you experience issues with your 91AV ID card for building access, please contact 91AV Safety and Security immediately at (207) 602-2298.

Key issues/Lock out

For lost, broken keys, or locks not working properly, please contact Lux management immediately. (After hours or holidays at 1 (800) 436-2196) Refer to the Lux Emergency Maintenance (PDF) procedures, or through the AppFolio tenant portal. A key replacement fee of $50 will be charged to the resident for lost and broken keys, including mailbox key. 

If you should find yourself locked out of your apartment, contact Lux management. A lock out response fee of $50 will be charged to the resident.

Internet

You can utilize existing vendors for internet connection in your apartment. For a list of providers in Westbrook, visit . All costs associated with internet connection is the responsibility of the resident.

Can my spouse or partner live with me?

All residents of Seavey Terraces must be 91AV graduate and professional students (including rising junior Dental Hygiene and Nursing students, as well as accelerated Nursing students) enrolled in full-time matriculating programs of academic study, unless otherwise permitted by the University.

Can I remain in my apartment during breaks/holidays?

Yes, the apartment remains open with no additional fee. Should you leave your apartment for a period of 10 days or more, we ask that you notify building management.

Can I bring my own furnishings with me?

All apartments are fully furnished. All furnishings assigned to an apartment must stay in the apartment at all times. Items cannot be moved or stored to make room for your own furnishings. You may bring small items to enhance your living space. Please see the Policies Addendum (PDF) for additional information on prohibited items. If living with an apartment mate, it would be helpful to consult on additional items to prevent duplication. There is no storage on the property. 

Useful items to bring; floor/desk lamps, small area rugs, utensils and cooking items, small free-standing shelving for bathroom, shower curtain, toilet plunger, etc. 

Can I have a pet?

Animals, except for service and emotional support animals approved by the 91AV Student Access Center, are not permitted. 

Can I smoke or vape in my apartment?

No. Residents and guests shall not smoke any cigarette, cigar, tobacco, or other smoking product in the licensed space or on premises.

Do I need property insurance?

All residents are required to maintain personal property insurance to cover personal property during the term of residence. A copy of your insurance policy must be submitted for review to housing-office@une.edu prior to your move-in date.

If you do not have personal property insurance you can consider coverage from (NSSI) or a carrier of your own choosing.

How big are the beds?

Beds are full XL – approximately 54” x 80”.

How are apartment mates determined?

If you have selected to rent one of the bedrooms in a two-bedroom apartment and you have another student that you wish to share the apartment with, you can indicate this choice in the Roommate Declaration section of your housing application with that student’s name and Roommate Code. Roommate Codes can be found in the top righthand corner of your  homepage.

If you have not identified an apartment mate, the housing office will match you with another 91AV student based on your answers provided on the housing application.
