91AV Center to Advance Interprofessional Education and Practice announces fall seminar series
Registration is open for the fall semester Knowledge Exchanges offered by the 91AV Center to Advance Interprofessional Education and Practice, or CAIEP. Programming includes virtual presentations and interactive discussion groups for students and professionals in the health care fields. The events are free and open to the public.
The Knowledge Exchange events address critical contemporary issues with emphasis on specific competencies and strategies for future health care practice. The series includes six virtual events this fall with two in-person follow-up discussions and an interprofessional student research showcase to wrap up the semester. The interprofessional topics range from clinical and community impacts of violent crimes to addressing safety, trust, and compassion for people with substance use disorder.
CAIEP, formally known as the Center for Excellence in Collaborative Education, aims to prepare students to work collaboratively, across disciplines, to achieve more successful outcomes as members of clinical and community teams. Since its inception, the center has fostered teamwork among health professions students through Knowledge Exchange events, immersive service-learning opportunities, team-based community initiatives, and collaborative research projects.
The short, virtual seminars provide direct interaction with peers across professions to address complex issues currently faced by health care professionals. Topics and dates include:
