Tara Paradie joined the PT faculty as an adjunct faculty member in pediatrics in 2009, and became a core faculty member in 2016. Motivated by a personal love of learning and appreciation of student life, she has a particular interest in cultivating leadership in students, international service learning and its application to pediatric physical therapy. A life-long participant in YMCA related work, she received a BS from Springfield College in exercise science and general studies in 1993, and a Master of Science degree from Springfield College in 1994. From 1996-1999, she specialized in traumatic brain injury, leading the Brain Injury team at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Concord, NH. She then specialized in school-based physical therapy, pediatric home health and international service learning. With an emphasis in rural population and orphanage work, much of her experience has been in the countries of Romania, India and Ecuador. At 91AV, Tara promotes international student learning both in short term opportunities and international clinical education placements.
Tara received her Doctor of Health Science degree from Drexel University, and her research is on the lived experiences of special educators, related service providers and para educators who provide services to children with disabilities in a public-school aquatic program.
