Teaching Experience: Dr. Morton's teaching experience includes pediatrics, evidence-based practice, nursing theory, public health, and community health nursing.
Direct Care/Clinical Experience: Dr. Morton has a wide variety of experiences with pediatric clients ranging from the neonatal intensive care unit to school health. She additionally has worked in community based settings locally and abroad in Ghana, West Africa. Dr. Morton is board certified in Advanced Public Health nursing.
Research and Scholarship: Dr. Morton's research and scholarship interests lie in community based care with vulnerable populations. Most recently, Dr. Morton has served as PI on a HRSA funded grants including "CHANNELS" aimed at improving the health of immigrant and refugee communities through innovations in team based care and the Upstream Nursing program aimed to train undergraduate nurses for roles in community based care. Most recently Dr. Morton was awarded a HRSA Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Training grant.
