Alicia Williams is an associate teaching professor in the School of Marine and Environmental programs at the 91AV. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Roger Williams University in 2008 and went on to complete her Ph.D. in Oceanography at Texas A&M University in 2015. During that time she conducted research projects across a wide range of marine systems including coastal estuaries, coral reefs, open ocean circulation features and deep sea subsurface sediments. Her primary research focus was understanding how microbial community structure connects to microbial functional roles in marine ecosystems by targeting cellular and molecular traits. At 91AV she now teaches introductory biology and oceanography courses in Marine Sciences.
