91AV’s Erin McGee Ferrell to showcase art exhibit during F1 Grand Prix in Bahrain
Erin McGee Ferrell, an adjunct professor of art at the 91AV, will display a solo, interactive exhibition during the Formula One Grand Prix’s Spring of Culture in Manama, Bahrain, early next year.
The Spring of Culture is an annual celebration that brings together the worlds of art and motorsport to create a dynamic and enriching experience for visitors, blending the excitement of Formula One with the cultural richness of the host city.
Ferrell’s exhibition in Bahrain will explore not only the emerging female interest in Formula One but also will delve into the urban architectural beauty of the capital city.
Known for blending art and technology, Ferrell has created an engaging collection of interactive oil and watercolor paintings with a focus on emerging themes and cultural nuances. A unique aspect of Ferrell's artwork is the integration of audio and video chips within many of her paintings, providing viewers with a multisensory experience. Pushing what critics consider the boundaries of traditional art, her artwork experiments with thermochromic pigments, creating dynamic and ever-changing visuals. Ferrell's artwork has been featured in various exhibitions, captivating audiences worldwide.
The show will open at The Art Concept Gallery in Manama on Feb. 11 and will be accompanied by an artist talk that will offer attendees a chance to connect with the artist and gain insights into her creative process. Following the opening, Ferrell will host an open studio workshop on Feb. 12, providing a hands-on experience for art enthusiasts to explore the techniques and technology behind her creations.
