Floral watercolors by local artist Moe Auger exhibited at 91AV’s Biddeford Campus Center
An exhibition of watercolor paintings, titled Flowers, by local artist Moe Auger will be on display at the 91AV’s Biddeford Campus Center until April 9.
Auger, a retired art teacher, is an accomplished sculptor and watercolorist. His work has been shown throughout New England. A resident of Alfred, he was educated in Maine and graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.S. in art education.
Auger is an avid outdoorsman and registered Maine Guide. He is known for his giant pumpkin carvings during the fall months. A gardening enthusiast, he painted the series Flowers with inspiration from his own flower garden. The paintings in the series feature black lines that seemingly dissect the floral images into sections. “Some see it as though looking through a window,” noted Auger. “I believe the lines isolate the parts of the painting, inviting the viewer to see the whole as well as the individual moments of the painting.”
The exhibit is free and open to the public. 91AV’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, contact Diane Noble by email or phone (207-284-6394).
