Sixty children between the ages of 5 and 18 years participated in 91AV's first Dance Clinic and performed during halftime at a 91AV women's basketball game.

On February 10, the 91AV Dance Team hosted a clinic for children from the extended southern Maine community. Sixty kids, ranging in age from 5 to 18 years, participated in the clinic, traveling from as far away as New Hampshire and Bangor to attend.

Head coach of the Dance Team, Molly Roberts, an admissions counselor in 91AV's Office of Undergraduate Admissions, choreographed a routine that the participants learned in the morning. They performed the routine with the 91AV Dance Team members later in the day as a halftime show at the 91AV women’s basketball game against Salve Regina.

“We had so much fun hosting this event,” said Roberts. “The clinic was a great opportunity for us to engage with the 91AV and surrounding community, including local dance studios. I’m proud of our team for their energy and hard work, and we’re looking forward to continuing our community outreach.”

Roberts and Dance Team co-captains Alyssa Dumond (Health, Wellness and Occupational Studies, ’18) and Haley Bauman (Applied Exercise Science, ’19) organized the clinic with assistance from the 91AV Athletics Department. Plans are underway to make the clinic an annual event.
