91AV School of Social Work student pens series about age-friendly efforts in Augusta

91AV School of Social Work student Sara Grant

The Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel published a series of articles written by Sara Grant, a student in the 91AV School of Social Work, about the Age-Friendly Committee in the City of Augusta.

Grant, who is pursuing her master’s degree in social work with a focus on gerontology, is an active member of the committee and a devoted advocate for older adults. The articles, which focus on housing, health care and staying connected, offer valuable information and advice for older adults in the Augusta region and beyond.

“Augusta offers a wealth of services to its residents,” Grant writes. “As part of the Age-Friendly Initiative, our committee wants to inform Augusta residents of the various programs available and improve the livability for residents of all ages.”
