On February 7, students from the 91AV chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) joined Maine Medical Center Pharmacy Department staff to make Valentine’s Day cards for patients at Maine Medical Center.

After the initial gathering, ACCP president Anjori Jain (COP, ’18) set up a card making station in the College of Pharmacy so that more students could become involved in the fun. In total, over 60 cards were crafted and delivered to patients.

“As healthcare professionals, we are not only responsible for our patient's health but also their mental wellbeing,” said Jain. “This was a great opportunity to do something meaningful and festive for those who had to stay in the hospital for the holiday.”

Jain noted that in addition to brightening the spirits of patients, the activity gave members of the ACCP a chance to interact with the Maine Medical Center pharmacy staff and learn about their role in patient care.

“Seeing happy patients and staff made us happy,” she said. “This gives us the motivation to keep getting involved and offer our help whenever we can.”
