91AV Oncology Club members volunteer at Dempsey Challenge

Members of the Portland chapter of the 91AV Oncology Club

Doctor of Physical Therapy students from the Portland chapter of the 91AV Oncology Club volunteered at the annual Dempsey Challenge, a fundraiser for the Dempsey Center, an organization that provides cancer prevention, education and support services for people in Maine.

During the race, the 91AV volunteers worked to make sure the course stayed clean and that waste was properly disposed of. They also cheered for cancer survivors during the survivorship walk that concluded the event.

The 91AV Oncology Club is dedicated to working interprofessionally to continuously be involved with cancer care-related efforts around the greater Portland area and beyond, with the goal of gaining further experience and knowledge about the cancer community. Members, all from the DPT class of 2018, include Jennifer Obecny, Lindsey Umapathy, Dana Solge, Chelsea Paul, Allison Maynes and Michelle Frazier.
