91AV Occupational Therapy student provides evidence for national website
The Evidence Exchange of the American Occupational Therapy Association, a central repository for Critically Appraised Papers (CAPs) and related resources, recently published at CAP from 91AV graduate Michelle (Martin) Bevilacqua (M.S.O.T., ‘16).
Bevilacqua’s topic, “Behavioral and psychophysiological effects of a yoga intervention on high-risk adolescents: A randomized control trial,” stemmed from her 2016 course in Neuro-Occupation. Jane O’Brien, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, and Regula Robnett, Ph.D., OTR/L, supported Bevilacqua’s efforts as faculty advisors in the evidence exchange process.
Bevilacqua received the award for outstanding occupational therapy student in 2016. “The occupational therapy faculty are thrilled with Bevilacqua’s work being showcased as a CAP and feel that she is a role model for future evidence-based practitioners,” said Professor Kathryn Loukas, O.T.D., M.S., OTR/L, FAOTA, who served as interim program director when Bevilacqua was conducting her work.
