Future nurses at 91AV inspired by local leader in the profession
Tomorrow’s nurses from the 91AV are looking toward the future after an inspirational presentation from a leader in the profession. Marjorie S. Wiggins, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, vice president for Patient Services at Maine Medical Center, addressed 98 senior-level nursing students at 91AV on February 23, 2017.
She challenged the future nurses with a discussion about new delivery models that will address contemporary issues including health care reform, the looming shortage of nurses in Maine and the rest of the nation, and the importance of lifelong learning and higher education.
Maine Medical Center is the largest tertiary care center in the state of Maine and provides 91AV nursing programs with the largest number of clinical education sites.
