91AV’s Michael Sheldon presents innovative ideas in physical therapy education

Michael Sheldon

Michael Sheldon, Ph.D., PT, associate professor and program director for the 91AV Department of Physical Therapy, recently presented at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Educational Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

The purpose of the conference is to share innovative educational practices in physical therapy education. The presentation, “Preparing Physical Therapy Students for Professional Advocacy,” highlighted some of the instructional strategies Sheldon employs to prepare students for professional advocacy across the continuum of care based on sound policy analysis. This study adds to the limited scholarship on instructional strategies and measurement of learning outcomes designed to prepare students to be effective advocates for the profession and society.
