91AV Neuroscience faculty, staff, alum publish article on anxiety disorders
Michael Burman, Ph.D., associate professor and Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences K-12 outreach coordinator, along with staff members Alex Deal and Kristen Erickson, as well as alumna Stephanie Shiers ’11, published a manuscript in the journal Behavioral Neuroscience.
The article: “Limbic system development underlies the emergence of classical fear conditioning during the 3rd and 4th weeks of life in the rat,” examines the biological basis of anxiety in early life, setting the stage for future research investigating risk factors for anxiety disorders.
