ULEAD Awards 2016 celebrate leadership at 91AV
On April 17, 2016, 91AV held its annual ULEAD Awards Ceremony to recognize leadership among students, faculty and staff. Senior Carlos Aguero, ULEAD Leader Scholar, opened the ceremony, and Craig Tennenhouse, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, served as the featured speaker.
Winners for Excellence in Academic Advising went to Tennenhouse for the College of Arts and Sciences and to Caroline Beals, M.S., OTR/L, for the Westbrook College of Health Professions.
Awards from the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) went to Jesse Hall (Freshman of the Year), Samantha Mansberger (Sophomore of the Year), Daniel Antonoff (Junior of the Year) and Carlos Aguero (Senior of the Year). In addition, Gabrielle Price and Morgan Hill received Hazard Awards, while Alyssa Fabianek won Senator of the Year and Darayan Lemire was presented with the USG President’s Award.
The Office of Intercultural Student Engagement presented Dustin Booska-Moulton with the Excellence in Advancing LGBTQ Initiatives Award and Daniel Nguyen with the Excellence in Advancing Multicultural Initiatives Award.
Other awards included RA Programmer of the Year (Samantha Mansberger and Holly Smith), Club Advisor of the Year (Rick LaRue, D.P.E.) and Club Supporter of the Year (Trevor Faulkner). The Academic Organization of the Year Award went to the Chemistry Club, and the Outing Club won Club of the Year.
