Several media outlets from around the world have picked up the story of tiger shark research conducted by James Sulikowski, Ph.D., professor of Marine Sciences at the 91AV.

The articles discuss how Sulikowski uses sonogram technology to study the sharks’ reproductive behavior. As seen on “Shark Week” on Discovery, Sulikowski, collaborator Neil Hammerschlag and their research team applied an ultrasound to a 12½-foot tiger shark named Emily. The pregnant shark showed several pups, approximately 40-45 centimeters in total length.

Sulikowski’s “Shark Week” episode, titled “Tiger Beach,” aired on June 26, 2016 on the Discovery Channel.
