Geoffrey Bove publishes paper about endometriosis and leg pain
Geoffrey Bove, D.C., Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Science in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences, recently published a paper about the connection between endometriosis and radiating leg pain.
The paper, titled, “A Model for Radiating Leg Pain of Endometriosis,” was published in the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies. Endometriosis is a prevalent disorder and radiating leg pain is a common symptom associated with it. Despite the fact that about half of women with endometriosis have radiating leg pain, the pain is not usually linked to their endometriosis, leading to misdiagnosis, unnecessary tests and ineffective treatments. This research is intended to provide diagnostic awareness of this common problem.
