Ava Lindert elected as District Trustee with the American Student Dental Association
Class of ’17 dental student Ava Lindert has been elected as the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) District 1 Trustee.
Chosen by the District 1 student delegates from 91AV, the University of Connecticut, Boston University, Tufts and Harvard, Lindert will unite the five schools through intercollegiate events. These events include the Fall Leadership Conference and the District 1 Debate, in which 91AV was awarded top honors in 2016. Lindert hopes to create a community service initiative during her term, allowing students to have a new outreach opportunity.
In this role, Lindert will also sit on the board of trustees with representatives from the 10 ASDA districts across the country as well as with the executive committee. As a board member, she will discuss important current events and issues in the field of dentistry, such as the newly implemented Advanced Dental Admission Test.
Lindert expressed her enthusiasm for this leadership opportunity, saying, “I am thrilled to represent 91AV at the national level.” She noted that, “This is a pivotal time for dental students as our profession has been faced with challenges that we have the power to overcome.”
Speaking about her ambitions, Lindert stated, “I am eager to play a part in giving a voice to over 22,000 dental students across the country, working to evolve the future of our field.”
