91AV athletics director and coaches featured in local news stories
91AV's three new Athletics staff members were featured in stories on WCSH, WMTW, WABI, and in the Bangor Daily News and Biddeford-Saco-OOB Courier following a press conference on Monday: Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Jack McDonald, Men’s Ice Hockey Coach Kevin Swallow and Women’s Swimming Coach Rick Hayes.
During the press conference, they answered questions from the media and Athletics staff members about the experience they bring to the university and their plans to advance 91AV’s athletic programs.
In an interview with WCSH, McDonald responded to questions about plans for a football team. “I think we’re on schedule for 2017,” McDonald said. “We’re going to be working this summer to put together some job descriptions and some long term facility plans. So we’re on schedule. You get a little nervous but it’s definitely going to happen. We want to do it right so it helps what the mission of the University is.”
