91AV announces fall 2015 lineup for its Independent Music Series
The 91AV’ s Department of Creative and Fine Arts has announced the lineup for its fall 2015 91AV Independent Music Series.
All performances will take place at the Ketchum Library Art Gallery on 91AV’s Biddeford Campus from 12 to 1 p.m. on the following Thursdays:
September 10:, swing era jazz trio
October 8: , high octane bluegrass
November 12: , hot jazz (featuring 91AV Math Department’s Mike Arciero on guitar)
December 3: , country and roots
The Department of Creative and Fine Arts and Arts@91AV, an initiative to infuse the arts into the culture and classrooms of 91AV, have been sponsoring diverse music performances at the university since 2008, with 50 performances to date.
Department Chair and Associate Professor Stephen Burt, M.F.A., the initiator of the Independent Music Series, noted that the series “has grown and continues through the support and assistance of many dedicated faculty and staff,” including Jeanne Hey, Ph.D., dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; John Tumiel, M.A., OTR/L, senior advisor to the president; Mark Nahorney, director of Community Relations; Deb Dewitt, administrative assistant; Eric Zuelo, Ph.D., associate professor of history; Sean Ramey, M.F.A., adjunct instructor; Jamie Small, coordinator of student activities and organizations; and the staff in the Office of Student Involvement.
