Tracey Bauer receives Best Student Paper Award from Southern New England Chapter of American Fisheries Society
Tracey Bauer, a second-year M.S. student in the Department of Marine Sciences, recently won the Southern New England Chapter of the American Fisheries Society 2015 Best Student Paper award at the organization’s annual chapter meeting.
The paper, titled "Abundance and Distribution of Ichthyoplankton around the Saco River Plume within Saco Bay, Maine," is a summarization of the research Bauer has done for her graduate thesis. The paper looks at the influence of the Saco River Plume on larval fish within the area – a significant topic regarding the local marine environment.
The Best Student Paper Award not only comes with prestigious recognition but also with a monetary prize and a plaque.
