Lara Carlson highlighted in WGME 13 interview
Lara Carlson, DPE., FACSM, CSCS, associate professor in the Westbrook College of Health Professions, appeared on a WGME 13 segment highlighting her innovative research about the human body’s physiological reaction to the stress of racecar driving.
The feature, which aired just before the Daytona 500, included an interview with Carlson where she explained the importance of physical fitness in professional racing.
According to Carlson, drivers whose bodies are able to circulate blood more effectively will be better equipped to stay focused, warding off dangerous fatigue during competition.
