Josh Pahigian featured in USA Today
Josh Pahigian, M.F.A., fellow in the 91AV Center for Global Humanities and longtime adjunct instructor in the English Department , and his latest book are the focus of a recent article in the travel section.
The article compiles ten of ʲ’s favorite away-from-the-ballpark baseball sites from the book. Discussing Babe Ruth’s grave, Pahigian comments, “If anyone was ever bigger than the sport, it's him.” Discussing Holliston, Massachusetts, which claims to have been the inspiration for Ernest L. Thayer’s Mudville in his famous baseball poem “Casey at the Bat,” Pahigian comments, “Whether it adopted the poem or the poem adopted it, doesn't really matter. The most famous baseball poem has a town." And so on.
Since its release in March, 101 Baseball Places has also been reviewed or featured by The Houston Chronicle, Providence Journal, Hartford Courant, Christian Science Monitor and many other newspapers across the country. It has also earned Pahigian appearances on radio shows, podcasts and television programs across the United States. Pahigian also recently received a legislative commendation from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for his “commitment to preserving the history of America’s favorite pastime.”
