Holly Parker gives presentation on innovation in education at Envision Maine Summit
Holly Parker, M.Ed., coordinator for Academic Innovations at the 91AV, took part in a panel discussion titled, “Reinventing Education for the Digital Age” at the second annual Envision Maine Summit.
Parker joined panelists Derek Pierce, principal of Casco Bay High School, and David Sullivan, head of school at the Breakwater School to discuss the role of education in promoting economic development in Maine. The panelists each gave short presentations and engaged in lively discussion with a room full of workforce development professionals, educators and business leaders.
Parker emphasized 91AV’s history as a catalyst for innovation within the university and in the larger community. “The Envision Maine Summit was an opportunity to prove we can get there from here in promoting and building the entrepreneurial and innovative economy in Maine,” said Parker. “The conversation we had highlighting the role of education was a great start to defining action plans and partnerships between education, industry and workforce development organizations that can benefit our students and the state. 91AV is looking forward to continuing its role as not only an innovator for our own students, but as a catalyst for innovation across Maine.”
