Dora Mills co-chairs highly successful Quality Counts health conference
Dora Anne Mils, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, vice president for Clinical Affairs, co-chaired Quality Counts 2015, Maine’s largest one-day health conference, on April 1, 2015.
Held at the Augusta Civic Center, this year’s conference drew nearly 1,200 people from across Maine and featured noted Boston surgeon and widely acclaimed author Atul Gawande, M.D., as well as Anne Weiss, a director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
This year’s theme of "Health Care or Health?" featured about 50 breakout sessions, which discussed ways in which the health care system is transitioning to a health system (from a system that delivers care for those who are sick to a system whose main purpose is to promote, preserve and protect the health of the population).
Mills worked for a year with co-chair Andy Webber, CEO of the Maine Health Management Coalition, as well as the conference’s hosting organization, Maine Quality Counts, and its CEO, Lisa Letourneau, M.D., M.P.H.
Over 25 people from 91AV attended, including Deans Betsy Francis Connolly, Ph.D., OTR, FAOTA, and Gayle Brazeau, Ph.D., and a number of faculty presented at breakout sessions.
