Dora Anne Mills quoted in four-part investigative report series on lead poisoning

Dora Anne Mills, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, vice president for Clinical Affairs, was extensively quoted in a series of recently published investigative reports by the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting on the state of lead poisoning in Maine. Published in the state’s daily and a number of weekly newspapers, the four-part series reviewed the impact of lead poisoning on children’s health, the underlying housing problem, strategies that are underway to address it, and remaining hot spots.

Among her quotes, Mills was noted to comment on the magnitude of the problem in Maine as well as the need for creative strategies. "“It’s a sick part of the system we have, waiting for children to be poisoned, then identifying the homes,” said Mills.
