College of Dental Medicine students present at the New Hampshire Oral Health Coalition Forum
Four students from 91AV’s College of Dental Medicine presented a poster at the New Hampshire Oral Health Coalition Forum on Friday, October 30, at the Holiday Inn in Concord, New Hampshire.
At the event, D.M.D. ’17 candidates Jessfor Baugh, Riddhi Daftary, Isha Gandhi and Christina McCann, presented information about their experience with 91AV’s Interprofessional Education MED/DENT pilot program.
This didactic program was an interprofessional education effort involving students from 91AV’s College of Dental Medicine and College of Osteopathic Medicine. Using a peer-to-peer teaching method, medical students received instruction regarding how to perform head and neck evaluations, and how to apply fluoride varnishes. The program goal was to strengthen students’ interprofessional team building skills, professional knowledge and ability to provide patient-centered care.
