Ali Ahmida presents at Whitman College on colonial internment in Libya
Ali Ahmida, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Political Science, was an invited speaker at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, on April 14, 2015.
Sponsored by Whitman’s Asian Studies program, Ahmida’s lecture was titled "Genocide, Silence, and the Politics of Memory: Archival and Fieldwork Notes on Fascist Internment in Colonial Libya."
Ahmida discussed his 15-year research of the archives of Italy, Libya, Tunisia and Egypt and of the oral interviews of the survivors in Libya.
