Regi Robnett to receive AOTA Roster of Fellows Award
Regi Robnett, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, has been named a 2015 Roster of Fellows Award recipient by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Robnett joins five other fellows (Professor Judy Kimball, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA; Associate Professor Nancy MacRae, M.S., OTR/L, FAOTA; Clinical Professor Kate Loukas, OTD, M.S., OTR/L, FAOTA; Associate professor Jane O’Brien, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA; and Dean Betsy Francis-Connolly, Ph.D., OTR, FAOTA) within the department.
The award is given to those whose knowledge and expertise have made a significant contribution to the continuing education and professional development of members in the association. Robnett, whose scholarship focuses on occupational performance and cognitive and perceptual strategies to assist those aging with disabilities, will receive an award that reads "creative aging education, and practice through assessments."
Her many achievements include significant contributions in occupations that support productive aging and cognitive functioning throughout life in terms of assessments, such as Safe at Home, Qual-OT, and ManageMed. She is also the co-editor of three editions of Gerontology for the Health Care Professional, has published numerous articles and textbook chapters and has made many presentations.
Robnett is continuing her work on the Cho-Ro, a test for visual perception related to the important occupation of driving, and the revision of the Kohlman Evaluation of Living Skills (KELS).
A steward of occupational therapy at 91AV, Robnett has served as director of the department, co-chair of the Research and Scholarship committee, and treasurer of the state association.
Robnett will receive her award at the 2015 AOTA conference, which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, in April.
