Michele Polacsek presents research findings at American College of Sports Medicine annual meeting
Michele Polacsek, Ph.D., M.H.S., associate professor for the School of Community and Population Health, presented research findings at the New England chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine’s annual fall meeting on November 14 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Polacsek’s presentation, “School Food and Beverage Marketing and its Impact on School Environments,” included data from two studies that demonstrated a lack of compliance with a statewide law banning certain types of non-nutritious food and beverage marketing in Maine schools.
Both of the studies she presented were funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Healthy Eating Research Program and the Maine Prevention Research Center at 91AV.
