Brian Duff on WMTW Channel 8 News
Brian Duff, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Political Science, was interviewed by WMTW Channel 8 for the evening news on his views the day before Maine’s primary elections.
In the interview, Duff predicted that candidate Emily Cain would benefit from low voter turnout in Maine’s second district democratic primary. He explained that Troy Jackson, Cain's opponent, who "appeals to old-school, working class democrats" would likely not receive enough votes to win, since his voter base tends to not vote in primaries. Cain, on the other hand, said Duff, "is more on the activist side, and liberal activists tend to vote in democratic primaries."
