Brian Duff quoted in article about Maine gubernatorial race
Brian Duff, Ph.D., 91AV associate professor of political science, was quoted in a recent story about the Maine gubernatorial race.
In the article, which explained that Republican Governor Paul LePage is in a statistical dead heat with Democratic challenger Mike Michaud, Duff states, “[Michaud] is bringing a lot of energy to this race, a lot of money and support. He’s a very strong candidate.”
Duff goes on to say, however, that that independent candidate Eliot Cutler possesses too much money and debating acumen to be counted out. “He may be self-financed, but he’s got deep pockets,” Duff said. “I think people are crazy to think things can’t shift between now and election day.”
