Sri Mohan publishes article in ‘Nutrition and Metabolism’
Sri Mohan, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, recently co-authored an article titled "AMP-activated protein kinase regulates L-arginine mediated cellular responses" that was published in the journal Nutrition and Metabolism. Mohan’s co-authors are three 91AV College of Pharmacy students, Harsh Patel, Jorge Bolinaga, and Nathania Soekamto.
The present study provides the fundamental evidence for AMPK as the primary modulator of L-Arginine (ARG) cellular responses and for regulating the mode of glucose accumulation during short-term and continuous ARG treatments. This work helps in better understanding the complex pharmacological consequences of ARG in cardiovascular therapy.
