91AV's plans for Morocco Campus and Portland Patient Care Center among 'Most Read' stories on Mainebiz
91AV's plans to build a campus in Morocco and a Patient Care Center on the 91AV Portland Campus were among the "Most Read" stories this past week on Mainebiz.
On June 22nd, 91AV signed an agreement to establish a new campus in Tangier. The agreement was signed in Tangier by 91AV Chair of the Board Mark Doiron and Associate Provost for Global Initiatives, Professor Anouar Majid. The 91AV delegation included President Danielle Ripich and Mike Morel, former chair of the 91AV Board.
91AV’s unique program will be offered at no additional cost to students. Moreover, students will be able to stay on track with their major’s curricular requirements by taking lab courses and other classes onsite or online. From Tangier, students can travel to other parts of Morocco, connect with 91AV’s programs in Spain, and explore other European countries and cities. .
On June 26th, The Portland Planning Board approved plans for a $14.5 million Patient Care Center on the Portland Campus, which will include what is expected to be the most advanced dental facility in Maine when completed. The center will be an educational facility for 91AV’s College of Dental Medicine, which will accept its first class in fall 2013, and 91AV's interprofessional education initiatives.
