Heath Pierce hosts NSCA Maine State Symposium
Heath R. Pierce, M.Ed., CSCS, NSCA-CPT, director of 91AV's Applied Exercise Science Program, hosted the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Maine State Symposium entitled: Exercise and Sport Performance at the OA Centers for Orthopaedics (Saco, Maine). The event provided CEUs for NSCA certified professional and the Board of Certification; National Athletic Training Association certified professionals. Attendance included 150 health/fitness, strength and conditioning, athletic training, physical therapy and chiropractic professionals and students.
The featured speakers included: Eric Cressey '03, MA, CSCS, president and co-founder of Cressey Performance Hudson, Mass.; BJ Baker, MS, ATC, CSCS, head Athletic trainer/partner of Pure Performance Training Needham, Mass.; Dave Page, CSCS, the 2007 Nolan Ryan Award recipient for MLB Strength Coach of the Year.
Pierce was the 2010 NSCA State Director of Year Award recipient and nominated for the 2011 NSCA Educator of the Year Award.
