Study by the Center for Community and Public Health is focus of Somerset County gathering and Bangor Daily News story
A statewide community health needs assessment conducted by 91AV’s Center for Community and Public Health, with assistance from The Muskie School and Market Decisions, Inc., was the focus of a story in the on June 5, 2011.
Representatives from local hospitals in Somerset County gathered June 3rd in Palmyra to review the findings of the study and brainstorm ways to reverse some of the troubling numbers.
The county tied for having the most overweight residents of any county and dead last for some preventative health care activities such as mammograms, prostate exams and colonoscopies.
The study was commissioned by OneMaine Health, a collaboration between Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, MaineGeneral Health and MaineHealth.
