Ali Ahmida presents lecture at the Brecht Forum

On June 8, 2011, Ali Abdullatif Ahmida, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Political Science, presented a lecture entitled “The Ghosts of Libya's Colonial Past & Why Qaddafi's Regime Failed?” at the Brecht Forum in New York. The lecture was part of the Elombe Brath Global Africa Lecture Series.

Ahmida, who was born in Libya, is the author of The Making of Modern Libya: State Formation, Colonialization and Resistance, and several other books on Libya and North Africa.  Find out more about Ahmida and read and listen to a number of his recent interviews and the national media.
