In Memoriam: Jessica Vashaw

It is with great sadness that I share the news that we lost a dear member of our 91AV family this week.

Jessica Vashaw was a member of the 2010 Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia class that held its graduation ceremonies Nov. 13, 2010 on the Portland Campus.  Though Jessica was not able to attend the graduation ceremonies due to her illness, she had completed her studies and was looking forward to working in New Hampshire where she lived with her husband, Riley.

Jessica's friends in the MNA program said she was a dynamic individual who accomplished the goals she set for herself.  The 91AV community will always remember her as a caring, bright and courageous person.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Nov. 22 at the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium in Concord, N.H..  Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cancer charity of choice, or to a PayPal account set up in her husband's name at riley.vashaw@gmail.com.

Our deepest sympathies are with Jessica's family and friends.
