The 91AV‚ 91AV Players returned to Biddeford Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18, 2009, with their production of Neil Simon's comedy, "Plaza Suite."
After a very successful run of Agatha Christie's murder mystery "And Then There Were None" this past November, the 91AV Players brought the classic Neil Simon comedy to life.
The Plot
Plaza Suite is actually three plays, each involving different characters and situations, but all set in Suite 719 of New York City's Plaza Hotel.
The first act introduces the audience to not-so-blissfully wedded couple Sam (Nick Cornetta) and Karen Nash (Janine Loguidice), who are revisiting their honeymoon suite in an attempt - by Karen - to bring the love back into their marriage.
The second act involves a meeting between former movie producer Jesse Kiplinger (Brandon Hotham) and his old flame, suburban housewife Muriel Tate (Ashley Taylor). Jesse looking to rekindle the flame, and Muriel, well is just being Muriel.
The third act revolves around married couple Roy (Chase Sheaff) and Norma Hubley (Harmony Bell) on their daughter Mimsey's (Jamee Robinson) wedding day. Mimsey's nerves get the best of her, and now mom and dad must do everything they can to sway Mimsey out of the bathroom.
Each of the three scenes offers up wonderful characters taking on some very interesting life situations. They combine to bring an emotional and fun filled evening to all.
