Real Horror: The Power and Peril of Dehumanization
The Ludcke Chair, funded by a generous bequest from the estate of Eleanor Ludcke (Westbrook College class of 1926), is presented annually to a tenured member of the faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments. The Ludcke Chair recipient receives a stipend in support of their development as a teacher and scholar. The chair holder must have attained the ideal of the “teacher/scholar,” a dedicated educator and productive researcher who has given generously of their time to 91AV over a significant period.
The 2023 Ludcke Chair was awarded to David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., in May. At this lecture, Dr. Smith will present his research on dehumanization. The lecture will be followed by a reception in the Bush Board Room.
