Vision

The College of Dental Medicine will:

  • Be a premier institution in the United States for educating dental professionals who will fulfill their obligations to improve the oral health, overall health, and quality of life of people in their communities with integrity, compassion, and respect.
  • Provide outstanding didactic and clinical education in a humanistic environment that embraces scientific and technological advances and supports patient-centered, evidence-based comprehensive oral health care in a group practice model.
  • Cultivate and support the richness of diversity in the development of professionalism, ethical behavior, communication, and leadership by encouraging and supporting diversity of students, faculty, and professional staff.
  • Develop dental professionals who are leaders of their own oral health care teams and partners in the interprofessional health care delivery systems of the future.
  • Educate dental professionals to understand and apply relevant clinical practices to the connections between oral health and overall health.
  • Advance its commitment to community health and service of underserved populations.
